2nd Line Description

Primary Definition:

The 2nd line description is a legacy field which is not standardized or mastered. It was available for local companies to further describe the product that was being sold. Since it is an open 30 character field it has been used for other purposes other than a item description. Some of these purposes are warehouse instructions, purchasing instructions, serial numbers, customer instructions etc. Line item notes in inventory and within sales applications have been created and will hopefully replace the uses of the 2nd line description.
