Specific timeframe given from the customer to the Local Company for when it is necessary to deliver the product.

Official order form submitted by customer to Local Company, committing to pay for the products that will be delivered or picked up.

The first and last name of the person buying goods from a local company or DC. This field may display information from Customer Master or may capture free text added by the salesperson.

The 2nd line description is a legacy field which is not standardized or mastered. It was available for local companies to further describe the product that was being sold. Since it is an open 30 character field it has been used for other purposes other than a item description. Some of these purposes are warehouse instructions, purchasing instructions, serial numbers, customer instructions etc. Line item notes in inventory and within sales applications have been created and will hopefully replace the uses of the 2nd line description.

Short Description, Mainframe Description, Line 1 Description are all terms that have been used in legacy applications which are 30 chars long. The values in this description have been truncated or abbreviated inconsistently due to space issues or lack of standards. Over time we should phase out the short description and replace these with Item Name which does not abbreviate terms and is better for item search.

The Item Description DOES NOT REPRESENT a data field. It represents a combination of fields depending on the merchandising that has been created for the item. Item Description can contain Short Description(30 Char) aka. Mainframe Description. The local companies 2nd Line Short Description(30 Chars) and or the PIM Item number (200 Chars) for the item. The Item Description preference should be to show the Item Name if it exists then the short descriptions. Our short descriptions have included Catalog Numbers and other data that can be used by customers to share our pricing. This is the reason why on customer facing documents we should use the Item Name as our Item Description when available.

Global Trade Item Number, also known as GTIN. Typically, this will be included in addition to the UPC and represents a packaging quantity for an item. Batteries may come in sets of 2, 4, 12, 14 and each packaging type will have a different GTIN even though it may be the same AA Battery. GTIN should be unique per WISE item because it also represents the selling quantity for that item. GTIN may be 8,12,14 digits with a barcode. GTIN many times are very similar to the UPC, but they are not the same. You cannot add zero to a UPC to create a GTIN.

EAN stands for European Article Number and for products manufactured in Europe you may have this attribute as the unique identifier. The EAN is 13 digit number which also has a barcode similar to UPC but different. It also represents the lowest sale quantity most of the time for a product.

UPC stands for Universal Product Code. This is a 12 digit number associated with a bar code(UPC-A) on most products. This UPC represents the lowest unit of sale (Each). This number is unique globally but some manufacture cheat the rules and reuse these numbers. THIS IS VERY INFREQUENT. Manufactures also remove the last check digit when publishing price sheets but we should always maintain a 12 digit UPC in our product catalog. UPC is only 12 Digits not 13 or 14.

Model and Series Number represent a product family or grouping of items for a manufacture. This term is commonly searched in order to return a group of products. Product families are generally built using the model number as reference which group all item related to the product family with an attribute picker. For example an American Standard Faucet Model:7353801 will contain 5 items with different color/finishes. The combined Model and suffix represents the catalog number 7353801.243 is Matte Black while 7353801.295 is Brushed Nickel finish.

The Order Number refers to a unique part number , catalog number or UPC which is unique per supplier catalog. This ID is used within purchasing to order the product or quantity from that manufacture. The Order Number may be the same value as catalog number but in maybe 10% of cases the manufacture has create a different ID for purchasing the item

This is a term used to describe the amount of money owed from 91-120+ days. Half of that amount will be held against the company's Profit line from Winsupply.

The aging bucket is a term used primarily in the accounts receivable domain. It can be classified into four or five main categories depending on the aging method of the debt. The primary buckets are Current, 31-60, 61-90, 91-120, and 120+ days. These days are how long the invoice from the customer has gone unpaid.

Catalog Number is a customer facing Item Catalog field which 98% of the time is a unique identifier within that supplier or manufacture for the product being sold. The item catalog is remembered by customer and is the term most search by. Catalog Number should be referenced in our application as the full name and not use symbols such as Catalog #. It should not be referred as model or series number. In the hierarchy of item catalog information it represent the 3rd level. Manufacture -> Model Series Number -> Catalog Number . Catalog Number has a one to one relationship with our WISE item number
