Universal Product Code (UPC)

Primary Definition:

UPC stands for Universal Product Code. This is a 12 digit number associated with a bar code(UPC-A) on most products. This UPC represents the lowest unit of sale (Each). This number is unique globally but some manufacture cheat the rules and reuse these numbers. THIS IS VERY INFREQUENT. Manufactures also remove the last check digit when publishing price sheets but we should always maintain a 12 digit UPC in our product catalog. UPC is only 12 Digits not 13 or 14.
